Spring Vibes - Jaclyn Hill Palette Tutorial

Jaclyn Hill Palette Tutorial - Overview

Hello everyone and welcome back to my website. Today I have the original Jaclyn Hill Palette! I know it's going to be two years old in June or July, But I finally just got it. It's not for a lack of wanting it or anything like that. I was never able to afford it till now. I also got her vault collection and I'll have tutorials for each of those as well. I'm so excited for all of the tutorials I'll have going up over the next month or so... I already I one of those done, I just have to write it... After I'm done with this post! The look I did with this palette, I know I know, It's kind of underwhelming! I was so panicked by all of  the beautiful colors that I just didn't know what to do or where to begin! So I went with a warm toned kind of smokey eye with a super shimmery baby pink lid color. Lets get started boi's!
Starting out this eye look, I primed my lids with the Wet n Wild Photofocus Eyeshadow Primer, and set it with the Makeup Revolution Baking Powder in Translucent. I decided to set my lid with this look because I wanted to see how pigmented the shadows were without a sticky base. Going into the Jaclyn Hill Palette I started off with the shade Pukey and brought it almost all the way into the inner corner on a bigger fluffy brush. I went in twice with it, bring it up a little bit higher for more of a blown out look. To deepen up the crease I tapped into Roxanne and kept it more in the outer third, blending it lower and keeping it focused in the outer corner. I ran Pukey and Roxanne lightly under the lash line, blowing Pukey out a little more, keeping Roxanne tighter to prevent it from looking too dark. On the lid I took a flat shader brush and some spray and picked up the shade Sissy, and put it all over two thirds of my lid, slightly blending it into the outer third. I also brought it on the lower lashline about a third of the way in. On the inner corner and brow bone I used the shade Beam.

Thank you all so much for stopping by, please feel free to share this post! Just a little wrap up here, I love this palette. Oh my god, the mattes are soft, creamy, blendable and pigmented! The shimmers are so buttery and pigmented. I can't wait to play in the Jaclyn Hill palette again, But I also have other new palettes and I want to try all of them out more. My next look with this palette is going to involve Royalty and Twerk! I don't know how I'm going to do it, but i'm using both of them together somehow! There are endless color combinations and looks that can be done with it. I'm so beyond happy the Jaclyn Hill palette wasn't sold for a limited time!

James Charles Palette | Skip & Artistry Tutorial

James Charles Palette | Skip & Artistry Tutorial

Hello everyone and welcome back to my website! Today I have another makeup tutorial for you in the form of a YouTube video! I have been really enjoying filming and I hope you're enjoying the videos and update in content. I'm sorry I keep using the new James Charles palette, but IT'S SO GOOD!!!!! I will try to switch up some more products for the next look and probably film that as well. As much as I love writing, i've been finding filming so much fun. I bet you're enjoying being able to visually see how i'm doing my makeup, rather than reading. If you prefer to read, rather than watching a video, let me know in the comments down below! I'm new to filming and editing so just give me some time to get better. I just discovered how to add text to the clips. I'm using Windows Movie Maker, It's simple and free. I'll eventually upgrade to something with more effects and pizzazz!

Burnt Orange & Pink Glam

Burnt Orange & Pink Glam
Burnt Orange & Pink Glam

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I have for you a warm, smokey simple look. It looks like it's a lot more complicated than it actually is. Don't we all love a simple glam look that looks hard to do than it really is? I know my wings aren't as sharp as a good wing should be. My eyeliner pen is drying out so I had a lot of struggles getting the wing on at all. This look didn't quite look right without a wing, so I had to force the liner pen to work. I messed up the wings and had to fuss with them for a good twenty minutes, lol. Alright, now lets just get into the tutorial before I ramble anymore!

Starting out this makeup look I primed my eyelids with my foundation this time. Last time I used a thin layer of concealer and it worked well. I just felt like being lazy, while also preserving my concealer. Ya girl is broke and has to save money where I can. Starting with shade 1, a soft peach shade, I buffed it all the way from my outer corner almost to the inner corner. I also brought it pretty high up to counteract my hooded lid situation. Next up I took shade 2, a rusty medium brown and brought it through the crease again, a little lower and not as far in. I don't was to close off the eyes and make them look smaller than they already are. Do you see the pattern yet? Each shade I use I keep it a little lower and bring it in a little less to the inner corner. Which is exactly what I did with shade 3, a darker burnt orangey brown. On my lid I used shade 4, a light metallic pink, and I used my finger to press the shade onto my lid for maximum pigment. It turns out super soft and glowey looking. Which is why I brought it into the inner corner and inner third of the lower lash line. The outer two thirds of the bottom lash line is shade 2, the warm medium orangey brown. On my brow bone is my face highlight shade.

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out this makeup tutorial. I love all of the warm burnt orange tones this time of year and I can't stop using them!! If you enjoyed this look, let me know in the comments down below and don't forget to follow me on instagram to see more of my life and some looks I don't always blog about. I have some that are basic boring looks and i'll share them over there!

Autumnal Vibes Makeup Tutorial

Autumnal Vibes Makeup Tutorial
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This past month has been so beautiful, so cool outside. It's been perfect. Although I have been sick off and on a bunch. Recently when I was outside with my dog Chloe I was suddenly really inspired by the trees in my yard to do this look. It ended up super vibrant and beautiful. This is my favorite time of  the year and I can't wait to do so many more autumnal looks. Warm tone smokey is my go-to look all Autumn long! This look kind of ended up really basic looking but it took so long to blend. I have having issues with the base I used and had to redo everything. I then switched the base I used and had so much of an easier time blending! Note to self (and all of you) don't use a heavy concealer as a base! It caused a lot if skipping and patchy-ness. Alright, let's get started boi's!

Starting out this makeup look, I messed up and had to restart. I tried using the Makeup Revolution concealer as a base, but it was either too heavy or i used too much. I ended up using my foundation as a base and things went a lot smoother! This tutorial was done using two palettes, but basically all you need is a shade to set the lid, a few warm and cool brown shades for the crease and a matte or shimmery orange for the lid. To set the lid I went in with shade 1 to create a soft base to blend everything into. Next I  picked up shade 2 which is darker, but still bright yellow and buffed it into the crease. In the picture, shades 3, 4 & 5 look like they are all the same color, but they're actually one gradually darker than the next. Shade 5 is actually a pretty deep brown shade. I took all three of them and buffed them in one at a time, building the intensity. On the lid I mixed shades 6 & 8, 6 wasn't a deep enough orange and 8 was too rusty brown almost. So I mixed and buffed those two together on the lid, blending back into the crease and outer corner area. For shade 7, a really pigmented black, I took the smallest amount and buffed it into the outer corner to bring more depth. You could totally do this look using a lot less colors, But I don't have a very big collection of makeup, so I don't always have the shades I need. I ended up highlighting the arch of the brow bone and inner corner with the highlight I used on my cheeks, it's another makeup revolution palette and its so blinding! Under my lash line I mixed the oranges and the darker brown and black!

Thank you all so much for checking out this post. Please remember to comment and share my posts, it helps me so much! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you did, let me know! I have another tutorial coming on Friday, I really love the look i'm posting today, but Friday's is sparkly and I love glitter!

Hopefully in these closer up images you can see what I was going for with using all of the colors I had pulled into the look. I wanted a lot of depth and dimension through the crease. There are so many beautiful yellow, orange and red trees outside right now and although I absolutely love it, my sinuses and body hate it. I'm going to try and grind and get some new tutorials going. I can't wait for some fun looks I have planned for the rest of the autumn season and all of winter!

Makeup Revolution; Fierce as Fire Palette Review and Tutorial

Makeup Revolution; Fierce as Fire PaletteHello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I recently made an Ulta purchase, and with said purchase if I spent $15 on Makeup Revolution products, I received their Fierce as Fire eyeshadow and highlight palette Free. I felt like this was a great opportunity to not only get a new palette, but it could make for some good content. I know they had a little bit of a bad reputation when they first came out because they were coming out with a lot of obvious dupes... I do have to say that they've made an honest name for themselves over the last year, not only that but I've liked everything by them. The quality of their products just seem to be too good for the price, but their stuff keeps getting better and better.

Makeup Revolution; Fierce as Fire Palette

The Review: The packaging is all plastic like their palettes normally are, and there isn't a mirror. The package is sturdy, pretty lettering and trim to match. There are 8 eye shadows and 4 highlight shades. The eye shadows have 4 shimmers and 4 matte shades. Two of the matte shades have a fine shimmer in them, but it doesn't show up on the eyes. The 4 shimmer shades are all very silky quality and shimmery. As for pigment of the shadows, everyone of them is so pigmented and smooth! The blendability is very smooth, I tested them over unset foundation to really test if they would be patchy. The shades went on buttery and pigmented, the shimmer shades are super shimmery and pigmented as well. As for the highlight shades, holy cow I was blown away with the pigmentation and creamy texture of them. They're all really shiny ad blinding as well. I was only able to test out the three shades on my cheekbones, the fourth one is too dark. It is very beautiful on the eyes though. The highlight shades are beautiful mixed as well! The palette is overall a 9/10, it would be a 10/10 if there were a mirror!

Makeup Revolution; Fierce as Fire PaletteThe Tutorial: Starting out this makeup look I primed my eyelids with my foundation and left it tacky to test the quality of the eye shadows. Starting out I went in with the light pinky tone and the cooler tan matte shades on a natural fiber brush and brought them through the crease and bringing the color all the way into the inner portion and above the crease. I have hooded eyes so I always bring my shadows higher than people usually do. Next to build up the outer crease area, I picked up the more red brick shade on a fluffy blending brush and went in lightly. It was super pigmented so I didn't have to add too much more than the initial dip in. I did make sure to bring that color into the inner corner as well, but very lightly just to add warmth. On the lid with a flat shader brush and some Mario Badescu rose water spray I dipped into the peachy pink shimmer shade and put it all over the inner two thirds of the lid. This color is beautiful! It's a duo chrome eyeshadow, it goes from pink to golden yellow. I used the same wet brush and picked up the darkest highlight shade and put it on the mid section of the lid gently patting out the edges. This look was finished with the lightest highlight on the brow bone and a thin line of black pen liner on the lash line.

I hope you enjoyed today's makeup tutorial. I absolutely loved this palette and can't wait to see what I create next! Makeup Revolution is slowly but surely becoming my favorite makeup brand! I just got their  Luxury Baking Powder in Lace and their new concealer in c3, light for neutral undertones. I've tried them roughly three times so far and I've gotta say I love their stuff more and more with each new product I get my hands on. I can't wait to try more! I'm almost at 100k views and it's all thanks to you guys and your support!

Fuschia Rush Makeup Tutorial; Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution Iconic Newtrals 2
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I have this beautiful tutorial to share with you. I am so obsessed with this look. It’s bright, shiny and stunning. Not to mention the pallet I used today, is $7.00…. Yes, seven dollars. The eyeshadows are all super pigmented, buttery and blend like a dream. I have no clue why I don’t use it more often. Makeup Revolution kills it with their palettes! The palette I used today is their Reloaded Iconic Newtrals 2. I bought it from Ulta a few months back and I’m so happy with my purchase. There’s 11 matte shadows (some look like they have shimmer, but it doesn’t show on the lid) and there are 4 buttery almost metallic shades. Okay, enough obsessing over this palette and let’s get into this tutorial!
Makeup Revolution Iconic Newtrals 2

To start this look, I did all of my face makeup first, so I primed and set my lids with my foundation and setting powder. Everything is listed down below as always. Since my lids were already set, I went in with the shade I marked as 1. This is a light warm tan color, I always blend higher that’s your “supposed to” because I have hooded eyes. With shades 2 and 3, I did the same thing and went in my crease with them. Keeping each darker shade slightly lower than the one before. Shade 2 is a pure rusty orangey red. Shade 3 is a darker brick red. I kept shade 3 more towards the outer corner. Now for the metallic buttery shades. I literally used my fingers to apply them at first. I put shade 4 just on the outer third, it’s a dark burgundy almost brick color. Shade 5 I put from the inner corner all the way to shade 4 and patted them together to blend them. Shade 5 is probably my favorite eyeshadow in this palette, it’s a hot pink / fuschia color that is so stunning and blinding! To soften up all the edges, I took a little of the lid shades and patted the edges out and also brought them on the lower lash line. For the inner corner and brow bone, I used shade 6, a pale nudey pink that’s super glowy.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Newtrals 2 That’s it for today’s makeup tutorial! I had a lot of fun with this one. I dumped a bunch of makeup on the living room floor and sat there and just played in makeup. I haven’t done something like that in a long time. It’s my happy place, some of y’all know I have some serious anxiety and take medicine for it. I still get anxious, panicked, I freak out inside. But when I sit down with makeup and focus on something I love doing so much, it calms me. I feel okay and I feel normal. Some people don’t get it. But hey, it’s for me to get and some to understand. Not everyone gets what I’m going through daily, if you do then hey, let’s chat in the comments! Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you.
Xoxo, Lulu.

Rusty Grunge Glam Tutorial

Rusty Grunge Glam Tutorial

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I felt like doing another Smokey eye. I don’t know what has gotten into me with loving these darker looks, but I’m really feeling myself in them lol. Today I went with a rusty red-ish orange and a black Smokey look. I dipped really lightly into the black since it’s so pigmented, I’ll get into that later in the tutorial. Today’s tutorial is using the BH Cosmetics palette Take Me Back To Brazil. When I get new palettes, I like to use them more than my others. It’s like anything else, new things are so much fun. This palette has so many endless looks you could do with it, and I’ve barely dipped my toes in the water lol. Alright guys, let’s get right into this tutorial!

Starting out this look, it was a complete mess to be honest. I had no idea what I was doing and I ended up with this rusty, sort of grunge look. To me it screams, clean grunge lol. I primed my eyelids with my usual primer and set it with my setting powder. On the lid I packed on the burgundy color all over, then picked up the red and started to blend that in too over the burgundy and up through the crease. On a flimsy fluffy brush, I picked up a tiny bit of black and lightly blended it and half way through the crease and in the outer third. This black is no joke, it’s so pigmented, be aware if your using this palette lol. After that, I picked up both of the red and burgundy shades and softened the edges on everything. I also brought them underneath the lashline to smoke it out. I added a winged liner, tight lined and lined my waterline in black. I had to add lashes to this look, it just wasn’t complete without them. The eyelids were too heavy not to add lashes and lots of mascara.

Thank you so much for checking out this makeup tutorial, I hope you like it and if you try it out, tag me on social media! I’ll have everything tagged down below, The products, brushes and social media links! If there’s any looks you want me to try or any colors you want to see me use, comment down below or tag me online. I’d love to chat with you guys and hear what you want to see.

Sultry Warm Tone Makeup Tutorial

Sultry Warm Tone Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I’m a little late this week with Fridays tutorial. Thanks to my daughter being in public school, she brings all kinds of germs home. Guess who ends up ten times sicker than she does? That would be me, and I hate it lol. I felt like doing a Halo eye, but I also felt like doing something really warmed tones and sultry. I haven’t done a winged liner in a while so I threw that in too for the fun of it. I’m not the best at winged liner but I’m getting better, they can really pull a look together. False lashes were a must for this look with how bold the eye shadow was. Let’s get right into the tutorial!

I started out this tutorial like I always do by priming and setting my lids with shade 1. This is my number one tip for a soft even blend. I have thin eyelids and if I don’t do this, my Eyeshadow won’t blend smoothly and it’ll look like it’s skidded. Today’s eyeshadow palette is the Makeup Revolution Reloaded Iconic Newtrals 2. It’s a very long name lol, but the shadows aren’t names. That’s a big pet peeve of mine. But I’ll include a picture of course with everything numbered, dedicated to my craft y’all lol. To build up the color all over my lid and above my crease I dipped into shades 2, 3 and 4 and just blended like crazy. I then went in with shade 5 and deepened the inner and outer corners. On the center of my lid I took my concealer and patted it out and blended shades 6 and 7 together over it softening the edges. That’s all this look consisted of, a lot of Shadow’s in different warm tones and a lot of blending. I took shadows 5, 6 and 7 and ran them under my lash line, darker on the outer corner, lightest on the inner corner.

Thank you so much for checking out this tutorial. Let me know how you liked it down below in the comments and send me any suggestions of future looks you’d like me to do! I love this look so much, I’m just sad I have no where to go to flaunt this look. As always down below I will have a full product list of everything I used in the makeup look including tools. I’ll also have all of my social media links down below so you can follow me. I’m trying to break a thousand followers on Instagram right now. Who wants to help, lol.

Think Pink Makeup Tutorial

Think Pink Makeup Tutorial

Think Pink Makeup Tutorial
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I'm bringing you a beautiful pink and burgundy eyeshadow look i did with one of my new palettes, Makeup Revolution Reloaded Iconic Newtrals 2. I got this about two weeks ago and this is my first tutorial using it. A little review is included in the tutorial along with how to achieve the look! I did end up using a lot more shades than I really needed to, but that was because I did a lot of blending and gradients. By the way, I know my lashes are wonky. They  wouldn't sit right, this is only my second time ever using them though lol. Now let's get into this tutorial.

Think Pink Makeup Tutorial
To prime my eyelids I used my Hard Candy Eyeshadow primer I've used for years, it's so good. I have never had an issue with creasing and I have oily eyelids. I went ahead and numbered the shades since they aren’t named, I find that makes it easier to follow along. To set my lid, I did as I normally do and used shade 1, the light bone shade and put it all over. This look is pretty simple to do, but it uses a lot of shades. In the crease I took shade 2 and brought it from outer corner to about half way in. These shadows are very pigmented, so I only used a little bit of it to create a hazy warm crease. On the eyelids with a packing brush I used shadows marked as 3, 4 & 5 in that order and patted them on my lid from inner corner with the lightest, to the outer corner with the darkest. With a clean blending brush, I went in the crease to soften any of the harsh lines. I also took the same three lid shades and blending them on my bottom lash line. On the very inner corner and brow bone, I used shade 6. That’s all I did to achieve this look and I love it. There’s so pink and burgundy loveliness, it gives me all the feels!

Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer Brick Review

Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer Brick Review

Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer BrickHey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I’m doing a product review on the Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer Brick! Now, initially I ordered the shades “Bronze Kiss” and “Rose Gold”, they sent me two of the same one. What got me, is the name on the back was even wrong. They were the exact same colors with different name stickers on them. So I emailed Ulta and got everything figured out and the shipped me out the Bronze Kiss one I didn’t receive. When it came, I was so excited so I could finally do this review! But to much disappointment, they sent me a THIRD Rose Gold. I ended up just saying whatever and not bothering to contact them again. I gave one to my ten year old daughter Trinity, the second one I’ll either keep or give to my older step daughter Kate.

On the Ulta website they’re description says
“Give gorgeous definition and a sun-kissed glow to all skin tones with Makeup Revolution's Vivid Shimmer Brick. It combines the warmth from a bronzer with highlighters to add radiance and illuminate.”

They also say how you can apply it
“Apply each shade from the shimmer brick on its own, or swirl your brush around to pick up all the colors for a soft glow.”

Now let’s get on to the review!
Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer BrickMy first impressions of the packaging was that although it isn’t super fancy, it’s made of thick strong plastic. The lines are very clean, simple and the lid is clear. I like when I pick up a small compact and I can see what’s inside. There’s pretty rose gold writing on top with the brand name. The lid has a piece of plastic to seal it shut, which I appreciate! Since I ordered it online from Ulta, the only other packaging was some bubble wrap. I’m not sure if Makeup Revolution is sold in stores other than Ulta.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer BrickMy first impressions of the product, was wow. It’s so beautiful in the pan, I was so excited to play in this baby! There are five different strips of colors, all laid together in one pan. They are all soft and pigmented shades and look beautiful on the lid dry, and even more blinding wet! I have not tried using this as a highlight since I got the darker one and I am so fair! I want to buy all of them! There are four different ones, there are two that look similar on the website. I would probably still buy them anyways! Things always look different in person than they do on websites. Much like the Rose Gold one I got, the colors aren't as vibrant in person.

Natural makeup with colorful Liner

Natural makeup with colorful LinerHey guys, lately I’ve seen these trends going around with super natural glowy makeup that’s flawless and beautiful with pops of color in their liner. So I’m going to try that today! I’m not very good at eye liner as it is, so this should be interesting! I really hope you like this look and find some inspiration in this look I'm going to try out today! If you’re interested in suggesting any looks you want me to try out for you guys, but up the comments down below!

Today’s look is using the Makeup Revolution #Slay palette! It is so pigmented and easy to blend that I had to use it today. I started out by priming my eyelids with the Hard Candy Eyeshadow Primer and setting it with the shade #Slay, it’s a nude cream color with a fine shimmer in it. For the crease I started out with Conquer, a soft light taupe, running it through and building up opacity until it was soft and hazy. In the outer corner I used the shade perfect, a matte chocolate brown color. I kept it only in the outer third of the crease. I made sure to keep the lid light with the cream shade. For the wing, I used setting Spray on a small angled brow brush in the great, which is a shimmery purple gray. I didn’t like the way it looked, it didn’t pop enough! So over the top I went in with the red shade, Queen and built up the color until it stood out enough for me. I then took it on a fluffy blending brush and smoked out the bottom lash line. I then finished the rest of my makeup and touched up the bottom lash line, a little smeared away when I put on the rest of my makeup. Here’s a list of the products I used in today’s look!
